from the sorth:
Take exit 39 on the M6 and turn right onto the A6 towards
Shap. Drive through Shap heading north passing Co-op on the
left. Before the rise out of Shap there is a left hand turn,
sign posted Bampton. Turn left here and follow for 6km,
keeping right after 1st bridge in Bampton Grange and turning
left once in Bampton Village over Bridge will see you
outside The Mardale Inn
from the north

Exit the M6 at
Junction 40 taking the A66 East for 1km until large
round-a-bout, taking the A6 South. Turn right at mini
round-a-bout and follow until reaching Yanwath village
taking the left hand turn after crossing over railway
bridge. Follow this road now for 10km passing Askham and
Helton until reaching Bampton with junction on the right
over bridge will see you outside The Mardale Inn.
